Patrol Program
Our dedicated patrol volunteers continued to be the eyes and ears of the Vancouver Police Department within our catchment area
Our foot and bike patrols continued to be the eyes and ears of the Vancouver Police Department in the Chinatown area. Our patrol team works closely with the community and the businesses around Chinatown. Their presence on the streets, in lanes and parking lots is the first point of contact, and they remain alert to suspicious activities during their shifts.
As a patrol volunteer, your roles are:
- Report suspicious / illegal activities to the appropriate authorities
- Act as the first point of contact to the public
- Work with ICBC check for stolen / abandoned vehicles
- Interact with community members and outreach to local businesses
- Deliver crime prevention materials to local businesses and public
- Establish CCPC’s presence in the community and act as visual deterrent for crime
To be a patrol volunteer, you have to:
- Be 19 years old or older
- Able to communicate in English
- Physically fit to walk for long periods of time (2 hours)
- Pass the Vancouver Police Department Criminal Record Check
